A common problem in residential construction
The floor surfaces in different heating circuits may reach different temperatures, or you may hear water flowing. Generally, this is due to the settings and the interaction of the individual components of the building's heating system.
This is where hydraulic balancing comes into play!
Hydraulic balancing ensures that the heat generated is distributed evenly throughout a heating system via the heating water and in accordance with demand. Without balancing, radiators near the heat source often receive too much heating water, while those farther away receive too little, resulting in inefficient heat distribution. Balancing ensures that each radiator receives exactly the amount of water it needs for optimal heating performance.
The Challenge
There are various calculation methods available for hydraulic balancing. It is helpful to have construction plans and technical documentation for the heating system on hand. In addition, it is usually necessary to consult a specialist — which, these days, is not always the easiest or most cost-effective option.
For this reason, various technical solutions — both mechanical and electronic — have been developed in recent years that enable automatic hydraulic balancing using different approaches.
The Solution: AdapTTO
The AdapTTO connection nipple provides a purely mechanical solution for hydraulic balancing and is installed in the manifold’s Eurocone connection as the counterpart to the thermostatic valve (in place of the standard connection nipple).
The AdapTTO responds to changes in the return flow temperature, limits the flow rate when the temperature rises, and thereby performs automatic hydraulic balancing.
Target return temperature: max. 25 °C. If this temperature is exceeded, the flow rate is automatically reduced.
